Looking forward to sunny skies and lots of
shoppers this weekend at the 17th
Annual Chicago Tribune Magnificent Mile
Art Festival in
Pioneer Court located between The Chicago
Tribune on Michigan Avenue and the NBC
Tower. You will find me in Booth
Number #59. Hours are
10am-6pm Friday and Saturday July
11-12 and 10am-5pm Sunday, July 13th.
I love doing this show as I get to meet
people from all over the world visiting our
beautiful city...Not to
mention getting to see
those of you
who work downtown (I did too for 6 years)...I
hope you'll come by on your lunch
hour Friday and say hello, I'd love to show
you some
of my new paintings!

Artists of the midwest have been dealing with
very serious weather this fair season. We had
a harrowing
weekend at the
recent Evanston Fountain Square Art Show.

My painting: Urban House Bird was
auctioned
off at Chicago's Museum of Contemporary
Art
on June 19th at the Annual Chicago
House Bird House Art Auction. The
money raised at this event goes towards
providing support and housing for Chicagoans
living with HIV and AIDS.
I love creating a bird house themed piece
every year for Chicago House..it's a fun

Fields Project 2008...Back From the Farm |

I've been back a few weeks now but wanted to
tell you that it was another truly unique and
rewarding
experience participating in the 2008 Fields
Project in rural Oregon, Illinois. This was
my 3rd trip to this artist residency and each
time I learn something new about myself and
my work. Please read my blog

on Flickr - I am very pleased
with the paintings I created in my outdoor
art studio at Castle Rock State Park. Three
artists created Field
Sculptures and they
came out beautifully due to all the rain
making for lush and full green fields of
grass. The other spectacular outdoor art
piece was an artified Corn
Bin! Corn Lady -
Cathy
Bouzide and Scrap Man Danny
Mansmith
wrapped this bin with numerous thrift store
sheets creating a glorious sculpture on the
Pfieffer Farm amid a myriad of pigs and
goats...Check
